Gnome custom key bindings

Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

If you use Gnome and want to do custom keyboard shortcuts, i.e. write your own script and have it executed when you hit a magic key combination, it is not as easy as going to the “Keyboard Shortcuts” preferences. Apparently you gotta mess around with gconf (The linux registry?!), anyway after a short bit of google hunting I found this mailing list posting: Custom Keyboard Shortcuts in Gnome (Solved). Thanks, Philip Chapman.

Madden and irresponsibility

Monday, August 8th, 2005

I can pick up Madden at midnight tonight, naturally I will. And stay up until 3 or so playing, then I have a work call at 9 AM, that can’t be postponed because it is with some people in Germany.

I am sure I won’t be terribly useful on this call. Unfortunately I have to do or manage all of the work that comes out of it. :)

I wonder if GTD has any magic bullets for this case.

Guess I’ll have to fire up some coke zeros. I can’t wait until caffeine is cheaper (i.e. it is winter and I can drink tea to get my fix)

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

I love you.

See, isn’t this better than a real gift?

The Blog preferred by Ed Hochuli

Monday, August 1st, 2005

My brother wrote an article for his website a few months back basically saying steroid use is not a huge problem in the NFL Why Steroids Are Not an Issue in the NFL (Unless You Count Ed Hochuli) As you can see he used the name of the very muscular Ed Hochuli as a joke in the title. Well someone claiming to be Ed Hochuli just struck back in the comments section. It certainly looks like a fake, but the email address used to post actually was Ed Hochuli’s (very easy to find) and the IP address the post came from seems to be from a cable modem subscriber in Phoenix which is where Super Ed’s law firm is located.

So the simple fact of the matter is, Ed Hochuli, is reading my brother’s website. Or at least the titles of the articles.
