World Conquering
Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006In order to take over the world any world, you have to spend a fair amount of time goal setting and thinking about the big game. And then planning for it. This comes at great conflict with the normal newspaper reading, TV watching and other mindless religions we make for ourselves that are so compelling.
Mandatory waiting period
Friday, November 17th, 2006As a follow up to my entry about people who pay attention.
There are certain people I have, and do, work with that probably feel I don’t pay attention at times. But it is far from the truth. I have found certain people are fly off the handle excitable with new ideas. And much like purchasing a handgun in some states, I sometimes implement a mandatory waiting period before taking action on their requests.
Often waiting for their second request to actually do anything about it, because a good percentage of those ideas and requests for action die their own necessary death without wasting too much of my very valuable time
People who pay attention
Tuesday, November 14th, 2006Although apparently packed with losers Mensa does have one charming quality according to Scott Adam’s
Mensa meetings are the strangest experience. No one ever has to explain anything twice. That’s a bigger deal than you might think. Your typical day is full of moments where you ask for a cup of coffee and someone hands you a bag of nails. You don’t realize how much time you spend re-explaining things until you no longer need to. Mensa is very cool that way.
It would be great to have people pay attention to you the first time. I would say I spend a very large part of my day not only repeating myself, but reciting from memory the contents of emails I had sent, and recounting the detail in voicemail that I left for people.

Wednesday, November 1st, 2006In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it.
