Colophon

Logical Disconnect is a collection of writings by Kevin McAllister which consists of personal articles with the particular purpose of expressing my off-the-cuff thinking, with the cohesive theme tying it all together of: stuff that is important to me.

It is, as most blogs, sometimes complaints, sometimes praise and sometimes information that is too personal to be of much use to anyone except me. Primarily it is an outlet for ideas that may not be rigorously thought-through which I want to share, primarily, with people who know me but am willing to put out there for anyone interested.

Finally I would like my children to be able to have this as a concrete reference for knowing about their Father. I know reading a copy of a single letter I discovered, which my father wrote years ago at work, gave me a different and unexpected perspective and even greater admiration for him.

Back in June of 2008 I had decided to use the writing here as a means to further my study of Objectivism. While I still study Objectivism, and I consider myself an Objectivist, I realized I destroyed my use of this site when I made that decision. It was no longer accessible to me. Anything I wrote here had to be “worthy” of being written here, which was an error on my part. I am not interested enough to devote the time to writing articles that I would deem good enough. I have decided to lower the bar and treat it, again, primarily as a Dougie Howser, MD style public journal site. Where you can expect cute pictures of my kids or their drawings cross posted from flickr, discussions of technology that I find awesome or lacking (and possibly the solutions) occasional political discussion, NFL chatter, basically anything that is of interest to me as often as I feel like it.
